Variation of Labouchere
In the previous chapter I spoke of units. Normally the tables with $5 minimums on the outside bets will scare away people who cannot lay out these high bets. This will undoubtedly come up in this type of system. Again, be aware of the danger of trying this method with a short bankroll.
Even starting with a line of 1 1, the average player cannot compete. So it is up, to him to find a table with a smaller minimum requirement, preferably a $1 table.
If the line gets to a point where it exceeds your loss limit, just cancel it out, take your loss, cash in at that table, and walk. So you suffered a small loss at a particular session. Don\'t chase that lost money by pouring in fresh green. Go to another table and start again.
In the long run, if you exercise money management and avoid big losses, the constant consistent small wins will swallow the small losses and the profits will begin to show.
You\'ll come up with your own run of numbers, but the aggressive player could try an advanced method. This calls for two, three, or even four lines being in operation at the same time. He could conceivably write
down the following lines:
Using this method, he has a high amount of units (or dollars), and as he wins he can cross off any combinations from any of the three lines. He is not restricted to one line at a time. This allows him to keep his bets low for longer periods of time.
I will spin a wheel using a three line method, and start with a conservative string.
1 will use black/red, with my choice being black.
1st bet ... $3. Black shows for a win of $3. 1 can cross off any number, or combinations of numbers, totalling 3. My experience has been to get rid of the bigger numbers as soon as possible. This way you don\'t get hooked up somewhere down the line with big bets. In this case, I cross off the following:
