Summary of Labouchere

By now I hope you have become aware of a very important factor in gambling. Whichever game you choose, don't be a big shot by strolling up to the table thinking you're Mr. Cool and getting involved in a game in which you are not an expert. I didn't say good. I said expert. You need a purpose and a battle plan after you have knowledge, and that's why I'm  laying several methods out in front of you   one or two that you may like to concentrate on.

The Labouchere has its good points and its drawbacks. The good points are naturally a controlled way of playing. You have the opportunity of having to win less decisions than the house, and still come out with a profit.

The drawback, as in most gambling games, is the necessity of having to sometimes make large bets when you reach a dry spell. There is also the possibility that sometimes you will be forced to close out a series at a loss, in order to prevent having to make an extra bet and seeing it lose, and having that one extra bet wipe out your remaining session money. When the losses come, learn to take them as part of the game, but don't let them wipe you out. You must learn to limit your losses. Going broke is a NO NO. As my old pappy used to say, "The chicken who turns and runs away still lives to play another day."

If the Labouchere meets your fancy, here's a few things to remember:

1.    Pick a starting line that is in tune with your bankroll. I suggest 1 1 to start.
2.    Try to play at the lowest minimum table you can, which allows more fluctuation in your lines.
3.    Start by betting the total of the front and back of your line.
4.    When you win, cross off the numbers that you bet as a total. For example, if you bet seven units and won, cross off the 2 and 5, 6 and 1, or 3 and 4   whichever numbers total the winning bet.
5.    When you lose, add the number of dollars or units that you lost to your line, and the next bet will be that number, plus the first number in the line.
6.    Set a limit as to your maximum bet, either in units or dollars. The chart I gave you previously is a good base to begin with.
7.    Set a Loss Limit on your session money. When you reach it, leave the table.
8.    Set a Win Goal. When you reach it, cut it in half with 50% going into your pocket and the other half staying in play. As you win each succeeding series, continue to put 50% of the profits away and keep 50% with your excess. When the excess goes, so do you.

After you have accumulated some profits from the 1 1 line, start going to 1 1 1 and 1 1 2, if you have the starting bankroll. Eventually I'd like to see you try the triple line of:
              1      1      1
    1    1      2
 1      1      1

The fluctuation of betting possibilities will stay low for a long time, due to the many l's that appear.
Finally, let me lay out a line that is not out of the realm of the possible:

    1    1    1
    1    1    2
    1    1    1
    1    1    2
    1    1    1

You can bet low for a long time and by making your chips worth $2, it's gonna take a really cold table to put a dent in your session money.

A good streak and you'll also have your rewards stacked in front of you.
