The Play

This system looks good on paper, and works 95% of the time on your living room floor. But, when it comes to the stark reality of a casino, it falls apart.

If doubling after losing doesn't make sense, then the other popular theory must be right. You know the one I mean: Double after you win. "Play with the house's money." As I said before, it isn't the house's money. Once you win, the money is yours!

If you try this method with an alternate "he wins, you win" sequence, you will realize this tactic doesn't make you a long term winner.

The possibility of winning any even proposition is exactly that even! But, the odds against winning two in a row is 3 to 1. So, when your winnings are riding for that second consecutive win, realize you are fighting triple the odds of the first win! The probability against three straight wins is 7 to 1. That's heavy!
You can win a hand at $5, let it ride, lose, and be down $5. That means you played a game of Blackjack where the chances of winning are 50 50, and you won once, lost once, and are behind $5. The house won a hand, and lost a hand, and is ahead $5.

Did you ever stop and analyze this chopping effect of win, lose, win, lose? And you still lose? You win as many hands as the dealer, but he takes more money from you than you take from him.

It's rough to win at Blackjack . So, when you win a hand, and lose the next hand, it is important that you show a profit.
My betting method regresses after the first win. This guarantees a profit for that bet series.
The time you spend at a table is a session. The first time you bet after a loss is the beginning of a series. Each series continues as long as you win. If you lose, the series is over. So, a typical session usually includes several series.

If you win a hand, the series stays alive until you lose. It is how you manage your money during a series that determines whether you will win or lose.

There is another approach which presumes you and the house are even. Therefore, there should be occasional streaks in your favor, so you should be able to bet the same amount every hand and leave a table after a "hot" streak and make a profit. Mathematically, the chances of this happening are remote.
What you want to do is offset "chopping" and come away with a profit.
